Phil Sudol is the alternate member to the WDBC Board of Directors representing Carollo.
With over 28 years of experience in development and execution of capital projects in the water and wastewater sector, Phil Sudol has achieved an excellent track record in developing and managing projects that meet or exceed clients’ expectations. Providing extensive services in design-build, design-build-operate, and construction management at-risk (CMAR) for both municipal and private sector clients, he has also served in the capacity as an owner’s representative on numerous procurement packages and has negotiated contracts in excess of $100 million.
As a vice president for Carollo Engineers, his current design-build project is managing a new microfiltration/ultrafiltration water treatment facility in Colorado. This progressive design-build project involves the design of an open-platform membrane system with the result being a reduction in capital costs by 20%, managing risks and schedule. Some of the challenges include smart chemical selection and storage, producing a comprehensive code review document that discusses all aspects of the project, leveraging reuse of existing facilities, and allowing for effective disinfection without over-investing. This project also requires proactively complying with the State Revolving Fund Loan Program and the CDPHE regulations; and providing project performance assurances.
