John Mahoney, PE, DBIA, PMP, QSD

John spent his first 15 years in public works working in construction, design, and planning units for EBMUD and Alameda County Flood Control & Water Conservation District in California, becoming a successful public agency executive by the age of 35. John turned his focus to the private sector, building a commercial development company with a portfolio value of near $50 million. In 2011, John was offered to be the managing director of the San Francisco office of an international project management consultancy. Since then, he has been the managing director and PE in charge of other private consultancies and construction companies for offices in California, Washington, Colorado, and Arizona.

Presently, John provides program management and strategic advice to public agencies regarding performance optimization, change management, and capital planning and implementation, including the use of collaborative delivery methods throughout the western United States.

John is a licensed professional engineer in California and six other states and holds DBIA, PMP, QSD and various OSHA certifications. John is a guest speaker on various topics regarding procurement, ethics, and fair business practices, and collaborative delivery methods such as P3, design-build, and construction management at-risk, enabling clients’ success while accomplishing productive relationships that are based on trust and mutual respect.
